The Club keeps kids off the streets and gives them a positive place to spend their time out of school. Club kids stay in school, are less likely to use drugs, alcohol or tobacco and are less likely to become teen parents.
Since 1967, the Club has helped boys and girls get a great start on their future by teaching them how to flourish in spite of the challenges and stress they face at home, school and in their neighborhoods. High unemployment and dropout rates, low performing schools, and the reduction in social and human services put St. Louis area youth at greater risk for failure. Our youth development experiences effectively address these areas through programs and services that promote Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character and Citizenship in each member.
We are saturated daily with troubling news about the size of the deficit, the plight of healthcare and the political instability in regions across the globe. However we should not lose sight of the fact that giving is a way for people and communities to pull together. While economic forecasts are uncertain right now, I am certain that there is no better time to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis. Please help change, and in some cases save, the future of our children.
Giving at any level to any of our five Core Program Areas will make a difference in the life of a child.
